On Thursday night, the New York City skyline took on a patriotic hue as the Empire State Building shone in red, white, and blue. This colorful display marked Fox News Channel’s 30th anniversary.

Key figures from “FOX & Friends,” including Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Brian Kilmeade, and Lawrence Jones, joined the celebrations at the Empire State Building Observation Deck. They had the honor of flipping the switch to illuminate the landmark in celebration of the occasion.

Growth of Fox News

Since its inception in 1996, Fox News has transitioned from a fledgling cable news network to a staple in American television news. The network has been at the forefront of covering significant stories and events, supported by teams of journalists, anchors, and correspondents. Dan Rogoski, GM of the Empire State Building, emphasized this significant journey before inviting the co-hosts to speak.

Steve Doocy expressed gratitude towards Rupert Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch, Suzanne Scott, and Jay Wallace for their leadership and contributions to the network. “It’s an honor that the Empire State Building chose to commemorate our milestone,” Doocy remarked.

Ainsley Earhardt reflected on her journey, remembering “humble beginnings” and expressing gratitude for the unique role of lighting the iconic building.

Brian Kilmeade, despite a bout of laryngitis, shared his thoughts, drawing parallels to movies. He praised Fox News for its atmosphere that encourages personalities to be authentic. “The opportunity to be myself on air is extraordinary,” he mentioned.

Lawrence Jones credited Suzanne Scott’s support for his career and recognized the foundational work of Rupert Murdoch in creating a space for an “untapped audience” in the market 30 years ago.

Significance and Impact

Recently inducted into the Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame, Suzanne Scott was acknowledged for her influence in shaping the media landscape. Her leadership, along with Jay Wallace’s, has been vital in nurturing talents like Jones.

Concluding the ceremony, the hosts unified to illuminate the Empire State Building, displaying the network’s signature colors as a tribute to Fox News Channel’s three-decade journey.
