Eagles’ Ja’Quinden Jackson Injured During Preseason Game

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Philadelphia Eagles running back Ja’Quinden Jackson was taken to the hospital after sustaining an injury during the opening kickoff of a preseason game against the New England Patriots.

The Eagles stated that Jackson retained strength and movement in all his extremities and was transported for further medical evaluation. The injury occurred while Jackson was on the kickoff team. After tackling New England’s Lan Larison, he remained motionless on the field.

Trainers and medical staff from both teams quickly attended to Jackson. They used a backboard and called for an ambulance. Players from both teams knelt by the sideline as he was secured onto a stretcher. Eagles players briefly gathered around him before he was taken off the field. Jackson lifted his left arm momentarily before being loaded into the ambulance. A few minutes later, the game resumed.

Backup quarterback Tanner McKee commented that the team received news postgame that Jackson was in stable condition. “A lot of different emotions just praying and hoping that he’s OK,” McKee said. “Word was going around that he was talking, he was responsive, and moving. That kind of got everybody to settle down a little bit and we know our teammate is doing OK.”
