“He’s one of our most improved,” Nightingale said. “He’s really coachable, and I think he knows what he wants to become.”

Misiak, from Slovakia, arrived at Rockford with significant expectations following his success with the OHL’s Erie Otters. Drafted in 2023 as a second-round pick, Misiak experienced setbacks in his first professional season but adjusted over time. He learned critical lessons, particularly in finding his role on the ice.

Initially struggling with playing time, Misiak adapted and improved his game, gaining more trust from his coach. His role evolved into a power forward style, differing from his previous play, yet offering growth opportunities.

“I struggled at the start getting the ice time I wanted,” Misiak said. “As the season went, I think I did a lot of good stuff and made good progress.”

Role Vision and Comparisons

The team sees potential in Misiak similar to Sam Bennett of the Florida Panthers. Misiak’s strengths lie in offensive contributions and tactical forechecking. Nightingale believes honing these abilities will help Misiak reach his potential.

“He can chip in offensively and gets to the dirty areas,” Nightingale said.

This season promises extra ice time for Misiak, allowing him to build confidence. With the Blues games approaching, he anticipates gaining essential experience.

“It’s knowing the plays you can make in certain areas and covering the puck,” Misiak said.
