An eventful day unfolded for country singer Bailey Zimmerman at a New Mexico resort, leading to criminal charges. Documents revealed a chain of chaotic events that ended with police involvement.
Zimmerman’s Day Begins with Golf
On May 27, Zimmerman arrived at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque. He began his day with a round of golf and returned to the hotel around 3 p.m. His security officer and four other men accompanied him.
Incidents at the Resort Hotel
Upon returning, Zimmerman allegedly smoked a cigarette with his entourage, intentionally burning his band members who seemed unfazed, laughing at the situation. The group then moved to Zimmerman’s hotel room, preparing for a soundcheck at the amphitheater.
Chaotic Soundcheck
Reports indicate that Zimmerman was inebriated and angry. Surveillance showed him throwing equipment during soundcheck, disrupting the session. He shoved a guitarist and kicked drum equipment. His behavior was erratic and difficult to control.
Departure from the Amphitheater
Following a tumultuous 44 minutes, Zimmerman left the stage. He reportedly expressed discontent with his transportation and showed disrespect toward a security officer before finally leaving for the hotel.
Concert Cancellation and Return to the Hotel
Zimmerman returned to the hotel in disorder. He stumbled, losing his balance, and required guidance from his entourage. Blood was visible on one knee. Later, he cited poor health as the reason for canceling his concert, promising to reschedule.
“I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through,” Zimmerman shared on Instagram.
Significant Room Damage Discovered
Resort staff found extensive damage in Zimmerman’s room, totaling over $16,000. Reports listed broken furniture, a hole in the wall, and stained carpets. Additionally, $400 worth of alcohol charges allegedly went unpaid.
Legal Consequences
A judge issued an arrest warrant, charging Zimmerman with felony criminal damage and misdemeanor falsely obtaining services. A “no bond hold” was applied, delaying his release pending a judicial appearance.
Zimmerman’s Apology
Zimmerman later apologized via his attorney, expressing regret to the Pueblo of Sandia and his fans. He acknowledged the event’s impact and vowed to take legal matters seriously, reflecting on his responsibilities as a musician.
