Man Arrested After Fatal Stabbing on Chicago’s South Side

A man was arrested following the fatal stabbing of an unidentified woman in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. The incident occurred on the South Side, as reported by Chicago police.

The victim was discovered shortly after 1:30 a.m. She was lying on the ground with a stab wound to her neck in the 7300 block of South Emerald Avenue. Emergency services transported her to UChicago Medicine, where she was declared dead.

Police officers conducted a search of the area and found a man on a nearby porch. He was holding a sharp object and had a stab wound on his right arm. This man was also taken to UChicago Medicine and is in critical condition.

A weapon was recovered at the crime scene, and the man was taken into police custody. Detectives are actively investigating the incident.
