For the first time in 25 years, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage can call themselves tag team champions. They achieved this by defeating FTR in an I Quit match at Double or Nothing. Since then, Copeland and Cage have dominated the tag team division, overcoming teams like The Death Riders and The Dogs.
Copeland’s move to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was deliberate. He wanted more than a nostalgia act. His reunion with Cage allows them to recreate their team, drawing on decades of experience and growth.
“I came to AEW to pursue goals that weren’t possible before,” Copeland shared with Fox News Digital. “We’ve transformed as a team, relying on everything we’ve learned over our careers—not just rehashing the past.”
The duo has also innovated by creating a new finishing move. Traditionally, their matches ended with a concerto, considered illegal. Copeland proposed a pop-up spear move before their first match back. They debuted it in London at the O2, surprising both themselves and their audience.
Now, Copeland and Cage are gearing up to face the Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, at All In for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Copeland had expressed interest in wrestling the Young Bucks in earlier social media posts. His list also includes venues like Arena México.
“The Young Bucks were always on our list,” Copeland explained. “Since discussing AEW as a reality, they’ve been a must-face team.”
Cage and Copeland’s current teaming stems from a storyline involving Mox, where selfishness and dynamic character tensions play a role. “It’s been fun,” Copeland noted. “I get to live through Jay’s character, and we’re constantly experimenting with new ideas.”
All In will occur on August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London. Fans are eagerly awaiting the face-off between these talented teams.
