Further complicating the issue, team president and CEO Derrick Hall described Marte’s absence as a “complete mystery.” In a radio interview, Hall expressed the need for explanations and apologies from Marte to resolve the situation.

“Any player who has a responsibility to be at the ballpark needs to be there, unless it’s been prearranged,” Hall explained. Despite seeing Marte at the hotel before the game, Hall found his no-show “bizarre” and seeks answers, especially regarding the MRI results and the lack of communication for Marte’s sore knee.
