The campaign describes Devey as a cherished member of the Eagle community in Idaho. Known for his dedicated service to others, he was coaching at Eagle High School. Devey was remembered as a devoted husband to Linsey and a loving father to their four children. He was highly regarded by players as a mentor and friend. His involvement extended into his church where he offered support and counsel to community members in need.
Although the exact date of his death is not public, his widow shared an Instagram post on what would have been their 15th wedding anniversary. She expressed her grief and fond memories, noting their shared joy and struggles.
Devey’s professional football career began with the Baltimore Ravens practice squad. The New England Patriots picked him up in 2014, where he started six games and contributed to their Super Bowl win. He later played for the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, and Buffalo Bills, participating in 44 games with 21 starts.
Remarkably, Devey is remembered as the only player in NFL history to have blocked for quarterbacks Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen.
