The trio’s path to success started with their glory days at Villanova, where they won the 2016 NCAA championship. Hart entered the NBA soon after, being chosen 30th overall in the 2017 Draft. Brunson and Bridges continued at Villanova to win the 2018 NCAA championship. Bridges was the 10th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2018, while Brunson was drafted 33rd overall by the Dallas Mavericks.

The journey brought Brunson to the Knicks in July 2022, with Hart and Bridges soon following. Hart was acquired from the Portland Trail Blazers in February 2023.
