The Los Angeles Police Department announced the arrest of a 44-year-old man in connection with the murder of actor James Handy. The suspect, Michael Gledhill, is the son of Handy’s girlfriend.
Gledhill has been booked on suspicion of murder. The police responded to a radio alert for “unknown trouble” on Erwin Street in Tarzana, Los Angeles. This followed a 911 call where the caller stated: “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.”
Upon arrival, officers discovered Handy, aged 81, unconscious in the front yard with a chest stab wound. He was transported to a hospital where he was later declared deceased.
Gledhill reportedly approached the responding officers, indicating that he was “the one they were looking for.” Following his arrest, he was taken to Van Nuys Jail with bail set at $2 million. He resides in the home with his mother.
James Handy was known for his roles in movies such as Arachnophobia, Jumanji, and Top Gun: Maverick.
