A tragic hit-and-run incident in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood resulted in the death of a 64-year-old woman early Sunday morning, according to police reports.
The victim was traveling as a passenger in a dark-colored SUV headed north on South Stony Island Avenue. Police reported that around 2:42 a.m., a dark-colored sedan collided with the SUV.
Following the crash, the sedan’s driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Authorities confirmed the woman died at the crash site. No additional injuries were reported in the incident.
The police have not made any arrests as the investigation continues into this tragic event.
