Amidst rising debates, the league’s official task force met to address the basic question of what defines a woman in sports but failed to reach a definitive conclusion. Instead, the league blamed external ‘hate and vitriol’ and opted to hold more meetings.

Meanwhile, the NBA is also experiencing its share of discontent. The league recently released its schedule for the upcoming season, with mixed reactions. Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, who hasn’t played since tearing his Achilles in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, will make his return on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans, but not on national television. This decision has left Haliburton frustrated. On the ‘Number on the Board’ podcast, he questioned the omission of his return from national TV coverage, saying, ‘If anyone else of my status returned after a 16-month absence, wouldn’t that game be shown nationally?’ Haliburton hinted that the game should either be on TV or at least at home.

While it’s challenging to please everyone in a schedule involving 30 teams and 82 games each, Haliburton’s return after an entire season’s absence, especially after his prominence in the playoffs, should perhaps take precedence in scheduling considerations.
