White House Clashes with Journalists Over Natalie Harp

The White House engaged in a public dispute with journalist Aaron Rupar over a post concerning Natalie Harp, a close aide to President Donald Trump. Rupar shared a photo of Harp at a welcome event for Trump at the U.S. ambassador’s residence in Dublin during Trump’s visit to Ireland. Rupar wrote, ‘Look who made the trip to Ireland! #TravelWithNatalie.’

The White House’s Rapid Response 47 account responded aggressively, labeling Rupar as a ‘sick, deluded freak.’ Rupar countered by questioning the taxpayer-funded account’s choice of attack based on his age.

Natalie Harp has maintained a presence alongside Trump for several years. Her association with Trump recently gained attention after Senator Jon Ossoff criticized Trump’s work habits in a speech, mentioning Harp by name. Ossoff accused Trump of avoiding his responsibilities and traveling comfortably, alluding to reports of Harp accompanying Trump when he secretly switched planes while departing Turkey due to a threat from Iran.

The White House spokesperson defended Harp as a loyal aide and fired back at Ossoff, portraying him unfavorably. The sharp exchange heightened focus on Harp’s significance in Trump’s administration.

The White House spokesperson stated, ‘Natalie Harp is one of the most loyal and hardest working aides on President Trump’s team.’

Financial disclosures revealing cash gifts from Trump to Harp and two other aides sparked legal and ethical questions, which the White House addressed, stating the gifts were permissible and unrelated to government duties.

The White House had a similar encounter with CNN correspondent Kristen Holmes. Following Holmes asking Trump about Ossoff’s criticism, the Rapid Response 47 account criticized Holmes, calling her a ‘disgraceful, humiliating embarrassment.’

Natalie Harp, now 35, is well-known within Trump’s circles. Born in California, she earned her MBA and first attracted Trump’s attention in 2019 due to her public support for his ‘Right to Try’ legislation, which she credited with helping her combat Stage 2 bone cancer.

Her speech at the 2020 Republican National Convention cemented her political presence. Harp previously worked for One America News Network and transitioned to Trump’s post-presidency team in 2022. Her role as Trump’s ‘human printer’ enhanced her visibility during his 2024 campaign, leading to her appointment as executive assistant to the president upon his return to the White House in 2025.

Harp remains an integral part of Trump’s team, accompanying him on travels and appearing alongside him at events, reinforcing her position within the administration.
