Tyreek Hill Found Liable for Battery Incidents Against Wife

26 minutes ago 0

A jury in Miami-Dade County has found former NFL player Tyreek Hill liable for two separate battery incidents involving his wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro. Hill is ordered to pay $500,000 in compensatory damages. The same jury cleared Hill of liability in five other battery counts, one assault count, one count of intentional emotional distress, and one count of continuing domestic violence against Vaccaro. Additionally, Vaccaro’s attorneys agreed to drop one more battery charge.

The findings mean Hill is responsible for two of the alleged incidents, based on a preponderance of the evidence. However, the judgment amount might fall short of expectations Vaccaro’s team had at the trial’s outset.

An ongoing NFL review under the Personal Conduct Policy is underway, which may impact Hill’s professional career, especially as he has plans to return to the league, potentially with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The incidents include a January 11, 2024, confrontation where Hill reportedly demanded Vaccaro sign a postnuptial agreement. Vaccaro claimed Hill became aggressive, throwing her belongings and physically assaulting her.

Vaccaro described how Hill shoved her, knocked her to the floor, and strangled her without her consent.

The second incident took place on April 7, 2025, at their condominium in Sunny Isle, Florida. Vaccaro alleged that Hill shoved her, forcibly restrained her, and damaged her computer, leading to physical injuries. The jury upheld this claim.

This verdict comes amidst football season off-field incidents, adding further scrutiny to the NFL’s handling of domestic violence issues.
