President Donald Trump announced plans to nominate Todd Blanche as the permanent Attorney General. Trump made the announcement on Wednesday evening.
Blanche has been serving as Acting Attorney General since early April. This transition followed the firing of former Attorney General Pam Bondi.
A video was shared on social media by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino. It shows Trump declaring his intention to nominate Blanche during a Rose Garden Club Dinner at the White House.
“Tomorrow I’m instructing Dan [Scavino] and everybody else that’s involved in that very complicated process, which is gonna go, I think, very quickly, that we are going to make him permanent Attorney General,” Trump stated.
The nomination process is expected to proceed swiftly.
