President Donald Trump announced the establishment of a new federal unit, termed the “Super Intelligence Force” or SIF, aimed at keeping the United States at the forefront of artificial intelligence. This initiative was shared by Trump through Truth Social, indicating the unit’s role in coordinating federal efforts with various sectors, including consumers, public-interest groups, and tech companies.
In his announcement, Trump emphasized the significance of this technology, equating its impact to that of the Industrial Revolution and the Internet. He stated that the SIF is designed to protect and enhance the lives and interests of all Americans.
The leadership of the new task force will include senior administration officials, reporting directly to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Wiles has recently been involved in White House events with Republican lawmakers, reinforcing her pivotal role in the administration.
Recently, Trump has renamed artificial intelligence as “Super Intelligence” across the executive branch following discussions with top technology leaders. During a summit at the White House, tech industry executives endorsed a “morally binding” document called the White House Accord on Super Intelligence. This accord has been likened to a significant constitutional document by the tech leaders involved.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed support for the summit, describing it as a “positive step”. Zuckerberg noted that the commitment from major American labs to implement strict internal controls and audits represents an important move in the development and regulation of Super Intelligence.
