Three individuals, including a child, were found dead at an in-home daycare near Minneapolis on Wednesday. The incident is being treated as a domestic-related homicide, according to local police.
Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson stated that officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the Brown Bear Daycare around 9 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased man, woman, and child inside the residence. All three victims are believed to be related, while six other children present at the daycare were unharmed and have been reunited with their families.
“There’s no worse scenario than this, where you drop off your child to somewhere you think is safe, and you get that phone call,” Chief Johnson remarked. He emphasized the tragedy of the situation and its impact on the community.
The police received a call when a parent arrived to drop off a child and reportedly witnessed the incident. Following the event, the police department assured the public that there are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing threat, labeling the event as isolated.
