Titans Secure First Win of Season Amid Roster Changes

The early NFL season did not favor the Tennessee Titans, but Week 6 offered a change of pace. The Titans secured a 26-20 victory against the Indianapolis Colts, marking their first win of the season. This achievement follows a series of challenges for the team.

Excitement within the Titans’ Nashville base diminished swiftly. The team made headlines by releasing defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, following an unspecified ‘incident’ at the team facility.

Elliott played under head coach Robert Saleh, previously with the San Francisco 49ers, before joining the Titans. In the season’s five games, Elliott recorded 11 tackles.

The Titans issued a statement confirming the incident occurred on October 15. ‘On Thursday, Oct. 15, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott. Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter.’

Elsewhere on the team, defensive back Alontae Taylor missed playing time, with his absence attributed to a coach’s decision. Saleh also refrained from detailing Taylor’s status.

Taylor had been a key player, featuring in nearly every defensive snap in the first five games. In March, he signed a three-year, $58 million contract and accumulated 19 tackles and one sack.

This week, the Titans prepare to return to Nissan Stadium, facing the AFC North-leading Cleveland Browns.
