Taylor Swift has set a new milestone with her latest country track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” on Spotify. On June 5, the platform announced via Instagram that this song became the most-streamed country song in one day by a female artist in Spotify history.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” will be featured in Pixar’s upcoming film “Toy Story 5,” which is scheduled for theatrical release on June 19. Swift shared a nostalgic Instagram video of herself clad in a cowgirl outfit, with her new track playing in the background.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time,” Swift expressed in her caption. She explained that crafting something for the character Jessie posed a new challenge while feeling familiar.
Acknowledging “Toy Story 5” director Andrew Stanton, Swift expressed gratitude for envisioning her for this project. She also praised composer Randy Newman for his remarkable contributions over the years.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” was co-written with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff. Swift noted that the song was created with admiration for characters who influenced their early years.
In another post, she reflected on her affection for the “Toy Story” franchise, stating that she had dreamed of writing for these beloved characters since she was five. Upon attending an early screening of “Toy Story 5,” Swift immediately felt inspired to pen the song.
The track “I Knew It, I Knew You” is now accessible on all streaming platforms.
