Suspect Identified in Monaco Bombing Incident

On July 3, 2026, Interpol named a 39-year-old Ukrainian woman as the suspect in a bombing in Monaco that reportedly targeted a Ukrainian magnate and his family. Known as Anastasiia Berezovska, she is marked under a “Red Notice” by the International Criminal Police Organization. She is wanted on charges of attempted murder and placing an explosive device on a public road with criminal intent.

Berezovska has a distinctive tattoo, potentially representing a snake, spanning from her shoulder to her right elbow. She is known to be a German speaker. According to Monaco’s deputy public prosecutor Morgan Raymon, her last known residence was in Germany. Authorities believe she fled through France and Italy using a rental car.

The bombing incident occurred on a Monday and is linked to Anastasiia Berezovska. Authorities in Monaco have not confirmed the identities of the victims. Nevertheless, French and Ukrainian media indicate that the intended targets were Vadym Yermolaiev, a 58-year-old businessman originally from Ukraine, now holding Cypriot nationality, along with his partner and 13-year-old son. The device was reportedly detonated from a distance using remote control, as stated by Raymon. Currently, the remains of the bomb are under analysis in France.

Raymon also noted that Berezovska was initially misidentified due to her disguise. She was described as a heavily built individual, assumed to be male, wearing a dark long-sleeved top, light shorts, and a black bucket hat. Subsequent CCTV footage analysis and witness accounts redirected suspicion to a woman disguised as a man.

The attack disrupted Monaco, a tiny yet affluent sovereign state known for its wealth. Prince Albert II of Monaco condemned the incident as “an odious act,” emphasizing that all public services are engaged in maintaining security.
