Plot Overview

Set in a dystopian Pasadena, Kevin Sussman returns as Stuart, trying to run his comic book store. The plot thickens when an alternate version of Stuart appears with a device that can traverse universes, setting the stage for a grand adventure. Bert, portrayed by Brian Posehn, and Denise, played by Lauren Lapkus, join the quest to save the universe. However, as the show’s title suggests, their efforts do not go as planned.

In one encounter, they are captured by an overlord who turns out to be Barry Kripke, played by John Ross Bowie. The narrative thrives on unpredictability, with every episode starting with a unique credit sequence filled with spoilers. Danny Elfman crafts the theme music, adding to the excitement of exploring new multiverses.

Each episode explores diverse universes, featuring quirky elements like cow-like digestive systems or worlds devoid of greed.
