Sol Ruca Secures Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Clash in Italy

3 weeks ago 0

Sol Ruca achieved significant success by capturing the women’s intercontinental championship on Sunday at Clash in Italy. She triumphed over Becky Lynch in an exhilarating match.

The event was a rematch following their earlier encounter at Saturday Night’s Main Event. During that match, Lynch pushed referee Jessica Carr in front of Ruca’s move, leading to a disqualification. This outcome gave Ruca a technical victory but left both competitors unsatisfied. Ruca sought to establish her credentials further, while Lynch aimed to progress beyond the rising competitor.

SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis announced the rematch, this time with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line. Ruca stepped up and delivered an outstanding performance.

Lynch tried to disrupt Ruca with verbal tactics and by using the environment to her advantage. Despite attempting Ruca’s signature move, Lynch could not slow her opponent down.

As the match neared its conclusion, Ruca executed her signature move, the Sol Snatcher, unexpectedly. This move secured the victory and terminated Lynch’s reign as champion.

This victory marks Ruca’s first major win since joining the main roster. She previously defeated Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December, an event to which John Cena personally invited her. As a top prospect from NXT, Ruca has now established herself on the WWE main stage.

Lynch’s 43-day championship reign concluded with this defeat. After winning the title at WrestleMania 42, she became the first three-time holder of the title since its introduction.
