The body of singer Oliver Tree has been returned to California following a tragic helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro. Social media updates on Sunday revealed his return after a collision involving two helicopters on June 14, which resulted in the deaths of all six passengers on board.
The social media post stated, Oliver is now back in California where he can finally rest.
According to The Associated Press, authorities identified the other victims as Gaspar Prim Díaz, an Argentine YouTuber known as Gaspi, another Argentine Lucas Vignale, and Brazilians Lucas Brito, Charles Marsillac, and Alexandre Souza. Investigations into the cause of the collision, including potential human error, are ongoing.
During his world tour, Tree, 32, was scheduled to perform a show in São Paulo on June 6. The crash occurred in Rio de Janeiro’s Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood on June 15. His father, Jesse Nickell, received news of his son’s passing from a producer collaborating with Tree in Brazil.
