Sen. Mitch McConnell Receives Discharge from Rehabilitation Facility

1 hour ago 0

Sen. Mitch McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, announced on Thursday that he has left a rehabilitation facility. This follows a fall at his Kentucky residence in mid-June that led to his hospitalization.

“Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home. Elaine and I are grateful for the many well-wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I’ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff,” he said, mentioning his wife, Elaine Chao.

McConnell plans to stay at home during the Senate’s upcoming state work period as he continues his recovery. He intends to follow his doctors’ advice by maintaining an intensive physical therapy routine from his residence. Despite being at home, he will continue to engage with his staff and colleagues on essential Senate matters.
