Tim Green, a legendary NFL figure, shares insights on living with ALS. Fox & Friends’ co-host, Brian Kilmeade, visited Green at his New York home to discuss his diagnosis, faith, the technology enabling him to retain his voice, his fundraising for a cure, and his new book ‘Rocket Arm.’

Tragically, O.J. Brigance, another former NFL player, passed away after battling ALS. He was 56. Brigance’s NFL career spanned from 1996 to 2002, featuring time with teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams, and New England Patriots. Notably, he contributed to the Ravens’ victory in Super Bowl XXXV in 2000 against the New York Giants.

“We are devastated by the awful news that we have lost O.J. Brigance,” said Steve Bisciotti, the Ravens’ team owner. He praised Brigance as a beloved legend, mentor, and vibrant person who left a lasting mark during his time with the team. Brigance was renowned for his infectious smile and made an unforgettable impact both within the team and in Baltimore.

Diagnosed with ALS in 2007, Brigance founded a charity to support ALS research, earning the NCAA Inspiration Award in 2016 for his advocacy. His dedication to the cause was widely recognized and appreciated.

“This is a tremendously sad day for Baltimore,” Bisciotti continued. “O.J. will be remembered for his service to our community, the Ravens, and his efforts to find a cure for ALS.” The Ravens organization extended condolences to his wife Chanda and the Brigance family, expressing how his spirit will remain a part of the community.

Brigance was a standout player during his college years with the Rice Owls before joining the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Dolphins in 1996. His professional career included a notable year with the Ravens, where he recorded 12 tackles in the Super Bowl-winning 2000 season.

He played briefly for the Rams and Patriots before retiring from the game. “We have lost a very special soul in O.J. Brigance,” said former Ravens head coach Brian Billick and his wife Kim. They highlighted his 25 years with the Ravens as a testament to his grace, compassion, and competitive spirit.

O.J. Brigance’s legacy extends beyond football. His life and work leave an enduring impact, celebrating not just the athlete but the person he was.
