1 hour ago 0

The DC Open singles finals experienced weather-related disruptions on Sunday. Matches faced delays due to intermittent rain, causing scheduling challenges for the players and organizers.

The women’s final featured Jessica Pegula against Alexandra Eala. They managed to complete one full set before rain halted play. Although the weather posed difficulties, the match proceeded briefly during the dry intervals.

On the men’s side, Taylor Fritz was scheduled to compete against Rafael Jódar. Unfortunately, persistent rain prevented the match from starting. Players and fans had to contend with the weather, altering the day’s planned events.

Organizers have rescheduled the continuation of the finals. Matches are planned to resume at noon on Monday, providing players a chance to compete under hopefully clearer skies.

Despite the interruptions, players and officials remain committed to concluding the tournament successfully. The tennis community hopes for improved conditions as the finals resume.
