Prince Harry’s Planned Movie on Princess Diana Sparks Concerns

Prince Harry’s potential film about his late mother, Princess Diana, is raising eyebrows among experts. The project may deepen the existing rift between Harry and his brother, Prince William. A report by The Daily Mail suggested Harry’s return to the UK to develop a movie ahead of the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death next year.

Harry and William, estranged for some time, last appeared together at King Charles’s coronation in May 2023. Attempts to reach Archewell for comment were unsuccessful. Kinsey Schofield, hosting YouTube’s “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered,” shared insights with Fox News Digital. She mentioned that using Diana’s tragic death for publicity might anger William.

“If Meghan were involved creatively, it would inevitably make the project more controversial because Harry has repeatedly drawn parallels between Meghan and Diana,” Schofield explained. “Those comparisons are particularly sensitive because William knew Diana in a way Meghan never could. Meghan never met Diana.”

She noted the importance of distinguishing between telling Diana’s story and exploiting it for personal gain. This concern may lead William to see Harry’s actions as vulgar and another betrayal.

Author Christopher Andersen observed that William and Harry had collaborated on a Diana documentary in 2017. Given the current tensions, a new documentary drawing on unreleased tapes could seem intrusive to William. Andersen remarked that Diana’s experiences, already revealed in existing media, present enough heartache without digging deeper.

Andersen pointed out: “Diana’s battles with Charles, her frustration with Palace officials, her struggles with bulimia, and attempts at suicide—all these are bound to be revisited, causing discomfort for the royal family.” He highlighted that King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Kate Middleton may also view the project unfavorably.

Helena Chard, a British broadcaster, emphasized existing mistrust between the royal family and the Sussexes. She noted the Palace’s intent to protect the monarchy’s integrity. On Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK, she hoped they would choose a more reconciliatory path.
