Political Allegations and Investigations Involving Far-Left Influencers

4 weeks ago 0

You can now access Fox News articles through audio. Hasan Piker, a prominent far-left political influencer, has identified Neville Roy Singham as a significant financier behind a network of pro-communist U.S. nonprofits engaged in political advocacy and various movements. This marks the first public acknowledgment from someone within the far-left network that organizations associated with Singham operate under an explicit political agenda.

These comments carry weight because congressional investigators and watchdogs have long believed that nonprofits connected to Singham function as political operations while enjoying the benefits of tax-exempt status. Critics argue that such activities might infringe upon nonprofit tax laws, which strictly limit the amount of political action charities can conduct.

According to an exclusive report by Fox News Digital, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued subpoenas to Piker and Susan Medea Benjamin, co-founder of far-left CodePink. They are being investigated for allegedly violating sanctions concerning business dealings with the Communist Party of Cuba during their visit to the island in March. This trip was characterized as an ideologically charged convergence of communists from different nations.

Piker and Benjamin have not responded to inquiries, though they have publicly defended their Cuban trips as humanitarian missions aimed at aiding the local population.

During a recent livestream titled, “FEDS ARE AFTER ME,” Piker expressed his belief that federal investigators are primarily targeting Singham and the organizations he supports. These include CodePink and the communist organizations ANSWER Coalition and Party for Socialism and Liberation, which engage in political activities.

Together, these groups have orchestrated and staffed many divisive anti-U.S. protests over the past decade. The Party for Socialism and Liberation, known as PSL among activists, is prominently involved.

Piker stated, “I think the ultimate target is Singham and his operations, from PSL to ANSWER Coalition to CodePink — anything he has financed.” He defended Singham, arguing that the federal government aims to suppress activism funded by Singham, described as a wealthy ideological donor.

Piker emphasized, “Roy Singham is an American citizen. He lives in China now and he’s a centimillionaire. He has almost a billion dollars.” A centimillionaire is someone with a net worth of at least $100 million.

In a five-part investigation by Fox News Digital, evidence revealed Singham’s involvement in funneling $278 million to six nonprofits since his marriage to CodePink co-founder Jodie Evans. These nonprofits support dozens of organizations globally, promoting pro-China messaging and causes in line with the Chinese Communist Party.

The investigation also highlighted Singham’s appearance at a Shanghai conference in November 2025, where he praised Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party’s vision for a “new world order.”

During the livestream, Piker continued, “Trying to stop the political advocacy of Singham is ridiculous.” He described Singham as a funding vehicle for various political movements, including rapid-response teams that protest against U.S. actions.

These protests have supported the Islamic Republic of Iran, with CodePink D.C. Coordinator Olivia DiNucci vilifying U.S. military actions by painting her hands red and protesting alongside Benjamin outside the White House.

Multiple congressional committees, including the Senate Judiciary, House Judiciary, House Oversight, and House Ways and Means Committees, have scrutinized Singham’s funding network. They are particularly concerned about foreign influence, nonprofit compliance, and political advocacy activities.

Investigators have focused on whether these organizations have engaged in political activism beyond the scope permitted under federal law. Piker’s remarks about Singham financing “political movements” may intensify these investigations.

Hasan Piker is a Turkish-born influencer related to Cenk Uygur, founder of the Young Turks YouTube channel and co-founder of Justice Democrats. This socialist organization helped elect far-left lawmakers such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

Piker has gained notoriety as one of the most influential left-wing commentators online. Although he promotes Marxism, critics label him a “champagne socialist” due to his lifestyle choices, including wearing designer clothing and living in a $2 million home in West Hollywood, California.

Piker monetizes his lengthy livestreams on Twitch, where he freely speaks, often criticizing the United States and echoing the views of adversaries like Russia, China, Cuba, and Hamas.

News of the subpoena prompted reactions from across activist circles, with far-left groups rallying in support of Piker, while some Democratic leaders and influencers criticized him for distancing from Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and now facing scrutiny from the Trump administration.

Piker has devoted recent livestreams to denouncing the investigation, describing it as politically motivated and labeling himself a victim.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control enforces U.S. sanctions laws against foreign entities under specific programs. In policy circles, being “OFAC’ed” is seen as a serious matter due to potential sanctions or violations.
