Perez Hilton’s TikTok Livestream Prompts Police Intervention

A livestream video of Perez Hilton reportedly harming himself in his Miami residence prompted a surge of calls to local police. The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office disclosed to Newsweek that they received numerous reports regarding an individual broadcasting acts of self-harm.

Deputies were sent to Hilton’s address and engaged with family members present at the site. It was confirmed that Hilton was alone inside the property. Law enforcement decided to strategically withdraw while they maintained scrutiny of the situation.

In instances involving a person in a mental health crisis or actively engaging in self-harm, deputies aim to de-escalate by establishing time, distance, and open lines of communication. When there is no immediate threat to others, decelerating the situation and applying crisis intervention methods can lower the chances of a suicide-by-cop circumstance and reduce potential harm to the individual, deputies, and the public, stated the Sheriff’s Office.

Newsweek reached out via email to Hilton’s representatives for comments, but no response was received by publication time.

The shared video depicted Hilton in the act of cutting himself and covered in what seemed to be blood. TikTok has since removed the video and suspended Hilton’s account. At this time, details on who was present at the filming remain unclear. Hilton, a father of three, has children born in 2013, 2015, and 2017.

Earlier this year, Hilton was hospitalized due to an ulcer induced by flu medication taken without food, leading to severe sepsis and a lengthy hospital stay. He was subsequently hospitalized for deep vein thrombosis, requiring a blood clot removal from his leg. In a later post, Hilton shared his new intention of reading the Bible, attributing his survival to divine intervention.
