A pedestrian was killed on Wednesday morning in a tragic accident on I-80/I-94 in southwest suburban Lansing. The individual was attempting to change a tire when the incident occurred, according to Illinois State Police.
At around 5:30 a.m., state troopers responded to a report of a crash on westbound I-80 near Torrence Avenue. Preliminary details suggest the victim was struck while tending to a vehicle tire. In response to the accident, two lanes were temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation.
The Illinois State Police are seeking assistance from the public. They are requesting anyone with dashcam footage of the crash to reach out to ISP Zone 1 by phone at (847) 294-4400 or via email at [email protected]. Witnesses have the option to remain anonymous when providing information.
