A passenger allegedly under the influence is facing accusations after an incident on a Carnival cruise ship involving two children. David Lawrence Crosby II, 44, from Surrency, Georgia, was taken into custody on July 27, charged with two counts of child abuse based on Brevard County Sheriff’s Office records.
The event took place on July 26 aboard the Carnival Glory, a ship that frequently departs from Port Canaveral, Florida, on trips to the Bahamas. According to a probable cause affidavit, Crosby encountered three children playing tag in a ship hallway. He allegedly hit one child in the face, resulting in a bloody lip and head pain, and struck a second child in the stomach.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office reported that ship security cameras documented the incident. When taken into custody, Crosby admitted to officers that he was ‘heavily intoxicated’ at the time and did not recall the events.
Carnival Cruise Line issued a statement to Fox News Digital, emphasizing the swiftness of their response:
Our security team responded immediately to an incident involving an intoxicated guest aboard Carnival Glory on July 26,stated a Carnival spokesperson.
Due to his actions, Crosby faced several consequences: confinement to his cabin for the voyage’s remainder, referral to local law enforcement upon docking at Port Canaveral, a code of conduct violation fee, and placement on Carnival’s ‘Do Not Sail’ list. Carnival made it clear that such behavior is unacceptable.
After being detained, Crosby was released on Tuesday upon posting a $20,000 bond—$10,000 for each charge. He appeared in court on Wednesday, entering a not guilty plea, with arraignment set for August 25.
