Bode Miller, a celebrated Olympic gold medalist, was recently arrested on drug-related charges. According to TMZ Sports, he faces one count of possession of a controlled substance and another for possession of drug paraphernalia. Miller has since posted a $5,000 bond for his release.
Miller pleaded not guilty to these charges and is scheduled for a court appearance on July 29. His illustrious athletic career began with his Olympic debut in 2002 at the Salt Lake City Games, where he earned two silver medals. However, he did not secure any medals at the next Winter Olympics in Italy.
He achieved significant success in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, capturing a gold medal in the super-combined event, a silver in the Super-G, and a bronze in the downhill. In 2014 in Sochi, he also secured another bronze medal in the Super-G competition before retiring in 2017.
Beyond the Olympics, Miller excelled with four World Championship gold medals and won 33 World Cup races. This achievement makes him the most successful male American alpine skier in history. In 2001, Miller competed in the Men’s Combined Slalom event at the World Ski Championship in Austria, further solidifying his reputation.
He clinched the skiing World Cup titles in 2005 and 2008. Notably, he remains the only skier to have at least five victories in each discipline of the sport. Miller’s record reflects his extraordinary contribution to alpine skiing.
