An Ohio man, accused of shoplifting, attempted a daring escape by leaping onto a woman’s car on the highway, as shown in dramatic footage. The incident occurred after Miami Township police stopped two men on July 27 for suspected theft from a Kroger store. One of the men, identified as Kaamil O’Berry, fled from the car and sprinted away.
As reported by WKRC, O’Berry ran over the on-ramp to Interstate 75 while evading police. In a further attempt to escape, he sprinted across a grassy area and then onto the interstate. In a shocking moment, he jumped onto the hood of a woman’s car as she continued driving down the highway.
Witnesses watched the suspect cling to the car hood until both were out of the camera’s view. During this chaos, O’Berry attempted to take control of the vehicle and damaged the woman’s windshield.
Eventually, O’Berry fell from the car and was apprehended by the authorities. He was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. According to reports, O’Berry faces charges including obstructing official business, theft, and aggravated robbery.
David Sutter, the other man in the vehicle with O’Berry, has been charged with complicity to theft.
