The Knicks will celebrate by raising their championship banner in front of their fans before the game. NBC’s “Today” had Jalen Brunson and his mother, Sandra Brunson, discussing the upcoming season. When asked about the opening matchup, Brunson described the event as “fireworks” and highlighted the reloaded 76ers as a tough challenge.

Philadelphia’s team has garnered attention due to its aggressive lineup. Brunson acknowledged their strength but remains confident in the Knicks’ focus and preparation. Recovering from wrist surgery, Brunson plans to play, though his health remains under watch before the big event.

The matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. ET, acts as an early evaluation for both teams and might hint at a potential Eastern Conference Finals face-off in 2027. Brunson, holding the NBA Finals MVP title, will join a roster largely intact to defend their championship.
