MJF Returns to AEW with a Bold Message

Maxwell Jacob Friedman, known as MJF, made a commanding return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) during the Grand Slam event in Mexico on Wednesday night. His comeback was felt immediately when he intercepted Andrade El Idolo, who had just triumphed in a triple-threat match to obtain the top position in the upcoming casino gauntlet match at All In later this month. MJF emerged from the crowd, using the Triple B AEW World Championship to attack Andrade and retrieve his Dynamite Diamond Ring.

MJF, the AEW Champion, had left Andrade bloodied and shared a forceful message with the AEW locker room. He declared that the Triple B AEW World Championship is the sole “true” title. He committed to claiming the championship, which Kenny Omega currently holds, during the upcoming casino gauntlet match.

“Next week, we’re in Vegas, and I’m feeling lucky,” MJF announced, referring to the gauntlet qualifying match for the casino gauntlet at All In, where he aims to secure the No. 2 spot. He stated his intention to enter, win, and ultimately challenge Andrade again at Wembley.

The casino gauntlet match winner acquires a contract for a future AEW World Championship opportunity. MJF had previously succeeded in the match at last year’s All In in Texas, challenging Adam Page for the AEW title at Forbidden Door.

MJF’s journey to reclaim the title was tumultuous. He did not regain the championship until Worlds End in December. Following a defeat to Darby Allin, he reclaimed the title at Double or Nothing earlier this year.

Kenny Omega defeated MJF at AEW Dynamite: Beach Break in July. MJF’s recent absence has ended, and now he aims to return to the casino gauntlet to contend for a potential fourth reign as champion.
