Since its release on April 24, “Michael” has grossed $977 million, overtaking “Oppenheimer’s” lifetime earnings of $975 million. “Bohemian Rhapsody,” with $911 million, holds third place. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, “Michael” narrates Jackson’s journey from Jackson 5 fame to global pop icon. Jaafar Jackson portrays the legendary singer, with Colman Domingo and Nia Long as his parents, Joe and Katherine.

The film has drawn mixed critical responses. The Tomatometer rates it at 38%, while audience approval on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter reaches 97%. Fans remain loyal, expressing confidence in Jackson’s continued impact. One fan noted, “The King of Pop remains unchallenged.”
