Leon Slater Shines at TNA’s Lockdown Event

Leon Slater made a significant impact at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s (TNA) Lockdown pay-per-view on Sunday. His evening began with a high-stakes match against Cedric Alexander for the TNA X Division Championship. Slater risked his legacy by agreeing to forfeit his name in TNA history if he lost.

With every match on the main Lockdown card held inside a steel cage, Slater capitalized on this environment. He climbed to the middle of the cage during the match, delivering a flying elbow drop. Despite Alexander’s attempts to keep Slater grounded, Slater dominated the match.

Using Alexander’s own finishing move, the Lumbar Check, Slater performed it three times on his opponent. He then executed a spectacular 450 swanton from the top rope, leading to his victory and emotional celebration as the X Division champion once again.

However, Slater’s reign as champion ended abruptly that night. After Nic and Ryan Nemeth secured the TNA World Tag Team Championship against The Hardys, Slater seized the opportunity. He grabbed the microphone and declared his intention to cash in his Option C opportunity. This allows the current X Division champion to exchange their title for a chance at the world title.

This decision meant Slater relinquished the X Division championship. He now prepares to face Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship at Bound For Glory, scheduled for October 11 in Tampa, Florida.
