The Dallas Cowboys secured a significant NFC East victory against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, winning 37-20. However, Cowboys cornerback Cobie Durant had a challenging experience during the game.
In the second quarter, Durant defended Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin in the end zone. Jayden Daniels threw a high pass over McLaurin’s head. Durant fell and landed awkwardly on his chest.
As Durant remained on the ground, Cowboys safety Markquese Bell inadvertently stepped on him, causing further discomfort. Trainers assisted Durant, who was unable to continue playing.
Durant joined the Cowboys in the offseason on a one-year, $4 million contract after four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. During his tenure with the Rams, he recorded 141 tackles and seven interceptions over 61 games. He contributed a tackle and a pass breakup in a recent loss to the New York Giants.
In Sunday’s game, the Cowboys limited the Commanders to 10 points in the second half. Daniels faced a dislocated elbow, and Dallas forced the game’s only turnover with a fumble from Dyami Brown.
Following this matchup, Dallas improved to 1-1 this season, while Washington fell to 0-2.
