Las Vegas Raiders Face Uncertainty With Ashton Jeanty’s Injury
The Las Vegas Raiders are facing a challenging situation as star running back Ashton Jeanty suffers a potential leg injury. During a practice session on Sunday, Jeanty, aged 22, was assisted off the field after being unable to bear weight on his right leg.
Jeanty sustained the injury while trying to catch a pass during a team drill, leading to concern among teammates as silence fell over the indoor practice facility. As he lay on the ground, the team gathered to offer their support through prayer.
The Raiders have yet to release any official information regarding Jeanty’s condition. Head coach Klint Kubiak is expected to address the media on Tuesday.
Jeanty, wearing number 2, has been an essential asset to the team since his drafting. In a game against the New York Giants on December 28, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium, Jeanty warmed up prior to play.
The promising running back completed a remarkable rookie season, recording 975 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Additionally, he achieved 346 receiving yards and five touchdowns through 55 catches, despite challenges with the team’s offensive line.
However, Jeanty’s recent preseason performances have been limited. In the first game against the Arizona Cardinals, he recorded three carries for a total of 16 yards without participating in the subsequent game against the Houston Texans.
Should Jeanty be forced to take time off, several players are expected to fill his role, including fourth-round rookie Mike Washington Jr., Dylan Laube, Roman Hemby, and Dare Ogunbowale. Washington had been alternating first-team reps with Jeanty prior to the injury.
Promising Future
Washington’s impressive performance during training camp has positioned him as a potential leader until Jeanty’s return.
Fans can only wait to hear further updates regarding Jeanty’s condition and the impact it may have on the team’s lineup moving forward.
As of now, the Associated Press awaits news from the Raiders camp, while Ryan Canfield continues to provide updates as a digital production assistant for Fox News Digital.
