Audio from a 911 call concerning NASCAR star Kyle Busch has been released by Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, obtained initially by TMZ. The call paints a distressing picture of Busch’s final moments. The unidentified man on the line with the dispatcher reported Busch coughing up blood and experiencing shortness of breath. The caller described Busch as being very hot and on the verge of passing out, while mentioning he was conscious but on the bathroom floor.
I have got an individual that has shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he wants to pass out. He produces blood… coughing up some blood. He is awake. He’s on the bathroom floor right now.
Kyle Busch was hospitalized after collapsing during a race simulator session. Despite a brief hospital stay, he passed away at the age of 41. His sudden demise on Thursday was shared by his family, NASCAR, and Richard Childress Racing.
Busch had been an influential figure in NASCAR for over two decades. He won the Cup Series twice and was a future Hall of Fame candidate. His record includes 762 starts and 63 victories in the Cup Series, with 234 wins across NASCAR’s national series.
Busch held the record for most wins in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with 102, and in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with 69. His prowess in the racing world earned him a devoted fanbase known as ‘Rowdy Nation’.
His last victory was a dominant Truck Series win at Dover, where he led for 147 laps. Reflecting on the win, Busch noted, “You never know when the last one is.”
The loss of Kyle Busch is a significant one for the NASCAR community, marking the second tragedy in recent months following the death of former Cup driver Greg Biffle in a plane crash the previous December.
