2 weeks ago 0

The New York Knicks achieved a record-setting comeback in the NBA Finals, defeating the San Antonio Spurs despite trailing by 29 points. This victory marked the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.

Madison Square Garden erupted with excitement, both inside and outside, with fans celebrating the stunning win. Among the jubilant crowd was Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet, a devoted Knicks supporter, who enthusiastically removed his jacket and shirt to celebrate. He was joined by his girlfriend Kylie Jenner. Chalamet, known for his role in ‘Marty Supreme,’ was seen celebrating with actor Ben Stiller, as captured in a video shared by the NBA.

Other celebrities, including pop star Taylor Swift—sporting a ‘Stevie Knicks’ shirt—joined the festivities by waving team towels and chanting while exiting Madison Square Garden. Notable personalities like movie director Spike Lee, tennis icon John McEnroe, actress Mariska Hargitay, and comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David were present as well. David, typically known for his deadpan expression, exhibited an unusual level of emotion during the game and subsequent win.

In Irvine, California, the U.S. men’s national soccer team paused their World Cup preparations to watch the intense matchup. Players, such as Knicks enthusiast Tyler Adams, witnessed OG Anunoby’s decisive one-handed tip-in with only 1.2 seconds remaining. The team’s celebration included jumping over furniture in disbelief.

Similar scenes were visible in New York City, where fans flooded the streets post-game, waving flags and cheering passionately. Some even climbed onto vehicles and lamp posts in elation. In Fort Greene, Brooklyn, crowds congregated around a building projection of the game, with individuals in neighboring areas joining in the celebration. Bars across the city rang out with shouts of ‘Let’s go, New York’ following the final shot.

Despite the joyous atmosphere, there was an unfortunate incident involving a group of Knicks fans who gathered around Spurs players returning to their hotel. Videos showed objects being thrown at Spurs star Victor Wembanyama.

Looking ahead, Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday in Texas, with the Knicks leading the series 3-1. A victory in this game would secure their first NBA championship in 53 years.
