Country music star Jake Worthington has announced a break from his music career. The 30-year-old, who gained popularity on “The Voice” in 2014, shared his decision on social media. He cited the need to focus on his personal life as a reason for stepping back.
“I live a life as my heroes did, but that life gotten ahold of me,” Worthington wrote. “I love my family, my friends and my fans too much to let it take over me. I need to take some time to work on myself for my wife and daughter.”
Worthington assured fans he intends to return stronger, expressing his gratitude towards country music. His announcement received encouragement from fellow country artists. Carly Pearce commended his courage, while Dierks Bentley offered his support.
Jake Worthington’s wife, Sophie, joined him at the 59th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville, showing her support during this transition.
Worthington is not alone in taking a step back from the music scene. Earlier this year, Chase Rice also announced a pause in his touring schedule.
“I’ve been touring for 13 years and I’ve lived a dream far greater than I could’ve ever expected,” Rice wrote on Instagram. “But I’m exhausted. I haven’t been able to be myself on stage in quite a while.”
Rice shared that the demands of touring had become overwhelming, both physically and mentally. He plans to take time to gather new life experiences to inspire his music. He clarified that this hiatus is a personal necessity and not a farewell to his career.
These announcements highlight the pressures artists face behind the scenes, emphasizing the importance of taking breaks to maintain personal well-being.
