Recent Russian Strikes Near Kyiv

Russian military strikes led to the deaths of three people, including a child, in the Brovary district northeast of Kyiv. The attack was confirmed on Saturday by Tymur Tkachenko, head of the regional military administration, via Telegram.

Increase in Attacks on Kyiv

In recent months, Moscow has intensified its assault on Ukraine’s capital. The strikes often involve hard-to-intercept ballistic missiles fired in quick succession. This has heightened concerns in Kyiv about the incoming threat.

Casualties and Damage

Besides the fatalities, three other individuals sustained injuries from the strikes. Falling debris ignited several fires on the edges of Kyiv on August 8, according to Tkachenko. The damage extended to houses, vehicles, and a non-residential building.

Destruction in Pukhivka

Ukraine’s state emergency service released images showing a destroyed building engulfed in flames. The attack in the village of Pukhivka resulted in the obliteration of a two-storey house, two cars, and a fire in a warehouse.

Explosions and Warnings

An AFP reporter in Kyiv documented hearing a series of explosions, while the Ukrainian air force issued a warning regarding potential ballistic missile launches from the north. Overnight strikes in the city wounded four individuals.

In response, Kyiv’s military administration declared an air raid alert, urging residents to seek shelter due to the ballistic missile threat.
