In a shocking event last Saturday, Houthi forces launched a drone attack on King Khalid International Airport located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This strike had significant repercussions, causing the death of at least 13 individuals and injuring more than 300 others.
The attack resulted in intense flames and smoke, prompting panic and fear among the passengers. CCTV footage captured scenes of people taking cover amidst the chaos that enveloped the airport premises.
The choice of the target has raised questions as King Khalid International Airport is a civilian facility and not a military installation. The military counterpart, King Khalid Military City Airport, is situated over 200 miles away, emphasizing that the civilian airport was the sole focus of this assault.
The incident has underscored the vulnerability of civilian infrastructure, especially airports, to drone warfare, highlighting their potential use as strategic locations in conflict settings.
