Atlanta Dream fans turned out in large numbers on Thursday, packing State Farm Arena for Game 6 of the WNBA Finals. Their enthusiastic support contributed significantly to the Dream’s victory, evening the series at 3-3. The match, held at 12:30 p.m. ET, saw the Dream defeat the Golden State Valkyries 80-69. This win set the stage for a historic Game 7 on Saturday, October 31, marking the first Game 7 in WNBA Finals history.

Angel Reese played a remarkable game, achieving a new record for the most rebounds (78) in a WNBA Finals series. Reese has also recorded four double-doubles during the Finals, ranking second in league history. Her performance on Thursday included 15 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists.

Following the win, Reese expressed her appreciation for the over 17,000 fans in attendance. She highlighted the impact of their support on the team’s performance. “Every time we’ve thrown the first punch, we’ve won the game. Just being able to set the tone early,” Reese noted. “We didn’t have everybody come out at 12:30 for no reason. We appreciate the fans’ support on a weekday. They came out and supported us every single day, every single game. We wanted to make sure we ended this right here.”

With the final game in Atlanta for this season concluded, the WNBA Finals will move to Chase Center in San Francisco, California, for Game 7 this weekend.

The sell-out crowd at State Farm Arena underscored the strong fan loyalty to the Dream throughout the season. The team’s consistent sell-outs have led to a multi-year agreement with State Farm Arena to host regular season games. Next season, all 25 regular season Dream games will be held at State Farm Arena, leaving behind the smaller Gateway Center Arena, which accommodates approximately 3,500 fans.
