Hasan Piker, a far-left streamer, performed the meme song “We Are Charlie Kirk” during his “Fear& LIVE” tour, causing a stir online. Piker, leading a lively audience, sang, “We are Charlie Kirk, we carry the flame. We’ll fight for the Gospel, we’ll honor his name,” prompting laughter from his co-hosts. Piker described the moment as surreal.

Besides his Twitch streaming, Piker co-hosts the comedy and pop culture podcast “Fear&” with three others. Their tour’s West Coast leg started in San Francisco, the location where the performance video is believed to have been recorded, as shown in a photo Piker shared with his co-hosts.

Released on September 18, 2025, shortly after Charlie Kirk’s assassination in Utah, the song is reportedly AI-generated and styled as a Christian power ballad. It features lyrics like “He spoke the truth when the cost was high / He lived for Jesus, unafraid to die.” The song is often used in memes to ridicule Kirk and conservative viewpoints.

Piker has gained attention for his provocative rhetoric and hard-left stance. His rendition of the song, which appeared to mock Kirk, quickly went viral. Kirk, a respected figure among conservatives, founded Turning Point USA and played a significant role in Republican politics.

“Hasan Piker is engaging in pure, unadulterated evil,” Turning Point spokesman Andrew Kolvet stated. “Whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished. Proverbs 17:5.”

Various commentators criticized Piker’s actions. Washington Free Beacon reporter Chuck Ross denounced Piker, stating, “He’s just a trash human being. Piker was supposed to debate Charlie Kirk a few days after he was assassinated. Piker actually talked about how much the shooting shook him. Now, he’s mocking it all for the pleasure of his loser fans.” Another account also expressed disgust at Piker’s performance, calling it “absolutely disgusting.”

After the show, Piker hinted at the song by sharing a photo captioned “carried the flame tn,” referencing a lyric from the song. He also reposted an account criticizing conservatives, which argued, “The same conservatives crying over Hasan singing a meme song were openly celebrating the murder of American citizens. These people don’t care about anything.”

Kirk, as a teenager, founded Turning Point USA and was known for his viral debates on college campuses. He also became a prominent ally of President Donald Trump and played a key role in his 2024 re-election campaign. Kirk engaged in debates with Piker on socialism in the past.

Piker’s influence in the Democratic Party, with democratic socialists rising in the 2026 cycle, has become a significant media story. He has supported several leading candidates, notably Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed.
