Fights Disrupt Joint Practice Between Saints and Cowboys

On Tuesday, a joint practice between the New Orleans Saints and the Dallas Cowboys was disrupted by several altercations. Despite these interruptions, Saints head coach Kellen Moore appeared unfazed. ‘All the chippiness, not the ideal flow of a joint practice, but we got the work we need,’ Moore commented in a report from ProFootballTalk.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed more frustration regarding the melee, stating he was ‘disappointed’ by the limited productive work achieved. Moore and Schottenheimer had previously worked together as assistants in Dallas back in 2022.

Moore mentioned they had communicated due to their past connection. ‘Schotty and I communicated, we know each other from working in the past, so we communicated,’ he remarked. According to Moore, the intensity and emotion inherent in football played a role in the day’s events. However, he stressed the importance of execution and focus on plays.

‘There’s a lot of rah-rah and emotion to football, and that’s part of it. At the end of the day, it’s about executing and running football plays. There’s a lot of loud people on a football field but at the end of the day, it’s about executing football plays,’ Moore elaborated. ‘Take all the emotion out of it, watch it without all the rah-rah to it and we’ll get some good lessons.’

The Saints are set to face the Cowboys in a preseason game on August 28.
