Last week, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and pop star Madison Beer announced their engagement, attracting 6.5 million likes on Instagram. This week, they displayed their affection at the Chargers training camp at the University of San Diego.
A fan account for Madison Beer shared a video showing the couple sitting on the field, engaged in a tender moment as Beer stroked Herbert’s hair. Despite Herbert’s reputation for being reserved since joining the NFL as the No. 6 overall pick in 2020, the scene spoke volumes about their relationship. One commenter noted, “Being in love wouldn’t describe this. This is like 3 levels above that.”
Rumors about their relationship began when Herbert visited Beer on set last August. They were seen together at a Los Angeles Lakers game in October, although neither addressed their relationship publicly until March. Herbert expressed his admiration for Beer in a heartfelt Instagram Story message on her birthday, referring to her as his “favorite person of all time.”
In May, Herbert appeared in Beer’s “Lovergirl” music video and even skipped a voluntary Chargers workout to attend her tour, showing his support. Off the field, Herbert is thriving. However, as he approaches his seventh NFL season, he is still pursuing his first playoff victory. The Chargers were defeated by the New England Patriots in the AFC wild card, where Herbert was sacked six times.
The Chargers aim to end their seven-year playoff drought starting with a home game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, September 13.
