Donald Trump Jr. expressed his belief that the evidence presented during the preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, the suspect accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk, made the case appear straightforward. He stated that the surveillance video and witness testimony significantly supported the prosecution’s case.
“Once this hard evidence was laid out to me in a courtroom before my very eyes, [and] seeing the reaction of the defense, this thing is much more cut and dry than I would have ever even imagined,” Trump Jr. shared during “America’s Newsroom.” He added that the likelihood of conviction for Robinson seemed evident.
Robinson’s hearing commenced Monday and is anticipated to last the whole week. During this period, prosecutors are tasked with demonstrating probable cause to proceed to trial, where Robinson faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder, potentially resulting in the death penalty. He is accused of shooting Kirk, the Turning Point USA co-founder, during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10 of the previous year.
Trump Jr. attended the hearing to honor Kirk’s memory and provide support to Kirk’s family, including his wife, Erika, and his parents. He emphasized the importance of witnessing the evidence in person after opting not to speak publicly about the case’s speculation.
He expressed the significance of Kirk’s impact, describing it as “generational,” and highlighted the importance of preserving Kirk’s legacy.
