The Chicago Blackhawks have been without their superstar center, Connor Bedard, for the entire 2026-27 season thus far due to his shoulder surgery during the off-season.
However, it seems Bedard is preparing for his return to NHL action with the Original Six club.
Reported by Emily Kaplan from ESPN, Bedard is expected to rejoin the Blackhawks during their upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.
The anticipation surrounding Bedard’s return is palpable. He’s the Blackhawks’ best player, and his absence has been felt in their 1-5-0 start to the season.
Bedard aims to make a significant impact upon his return. His presence on the ice may be crucial for Chicago, potentially sparking a turnaround after their tough beginning to the campaign.
In the previous season, Bedard played 69 games with the Blackhawks, amassing 30 goals, 45 assists, and 75 points. These stats earned him a five-year, $75 million contract extension with the team in July.
Over 219 career NHL games across three seasons with Chicago, Bedard has accumulated 75 goals and 203 points. Remarkably, this marks his first season as the captain of the Blackhawks.
